Burges ‘the elder’, a yeoman. His will of 10th Feb ordered that his wife Agnes
should have her dwelling in the tenement where he lives, with the two rooms
beneath and the chamber over the parlour, with the chamber outside the little
shop, and also use of the hempland and half the fruit yearly in the orchard,
use of one milk cow with winter and summer feed, a hogg and three horses,
all in the yard and ground of his son John, but if she marries again all
these bequests shall be void [was she much younger than him? JVS]. To son
