Eastern Mediterranean
Cyprus, 1973. The Bedestan, Nicosia. Built in the 12th century as a church, it served as a market in the Ottoman period.

Croatia: Primosten. 2007. Almost an island, a picturesque town connected to the mainland by a causeway.
Trogir, 1981 and 2007. A lovely old medieval town on an island.
Western Mediterranean
Malta, 1972. Sheila and Queen Victoria having a lemonate in Queen's Square (now Republic Square), Valletta.
Italy: Sicily. (On the plan but not visited yet)		...
Sardinia, 2010. The fortifications at Alghero.

Menorca, 2023. Wild horses outside Mahon cathedral.
Gibraltar, 1971, 1986 and 2022. Well, I know it's not actually an island, but in many ways it is. Physically it is a very big rock attached to the mainland by a small, flat isthmus. Culturally and politically it has been separate from Spain for over 300 years and from time to time when the border has been closed, it is effectively an island. This is the dockyard in 1971 (they don't like you taking photos of the dockyard!).
