A visit to Kenya and a stopover in Ethiopia

Kenya - Nairobi
|
We visited friends in Nairobi, went to the Equator, Lake Nakuru, and Treetops, and got the train to Mombassa on the coast.

We stayed at Treetops Lodge at Nyeri near Mount Kenya. Open since 1932 and visited by royalty, the Treetops hotel closed in 2021.

Kenya - Mombassa and Malindi
|
Mombasa railway station, the terminus of the 'Uganda railway'. The overnight train from Nairobi had comfortable sleeping cars and a restaurant with waiters in uniform and full silver service. |

Ethiopia, Addis Ababa
|
We flew to Kenya on Ethiopian Airlines so we had a short stopover at Addis Ababa on the way back. We stayed at the Harambee hotel with a view over the city. |
